Munneswaram Temple – Munneswaram Temple is the sacred site where King Rama sought penance from Shiva after committing the gravest sin, Brahmahasti. Lord Shiva blessed Lord Rama and instructed him to install and worship four lingams at five designated places to cleanse himself of the dosham. It stands as one of the pivotal Ramayana pilgrimage destinations in Sri Lanka.

Manavari Temple – Manavari Temple holds the distinction of being the inaugural site where Lord Rama installed and worshipped the Siva lingam. Presently, the lingam at Manavari Temple is revered as Ramalingam, as it was erected by Rama himself. Both Munneswaram Temple and Manavari Temple are of paramount importance on the Ramayana pilgrimage circuit.
